Outdoor Solidarity Cooperative – Adventure Hélianthe

Outdoor Solidarity Cooperative – Adventure Hélianthe offers nature enthusiasts a range of experiential activities in the DAVIDSON forest in the Pontiac region of the Outaouais.

Our nature outings can be enjoyed during three of the four seasons that we are lucky enough to have in Quebec: spring, fall and winter.

The hikes take place in the heart of Quebec's second largest natural deer ravine on public domain land.

These hiking trails follow the direction of tracks shaped by deer for hundreds of years and thus give access to a mountainous territory shaped by rocky ridges and streams of unsuspected beauty. Isolated lakes surrounded by majestic oak and pine stands.

This is why this environment is conducive to numerous opportunities for wildlife observation. This is why you will feel the calm returning to you and thus, a feeling of fullness will settle in you. Your mind will receive a dose of calm and a "Zen" state will very gradually take hold of you.

Our 50 km of marked trails are narrow and give the impression of an off-trail outing while taking advantage of the safety of the markers and our security and rescue services in remote areas.

The DAVIDSON forest is surrounded by private land that limits access to public land and is very little used.

We offer an expedition network with different levels of difficulty, stops and rest areas. In addition, Cree tents can accommodate you for lodging. You can also take advantage of a guide service to better meet your needs and expectations. The duration of the outings is variable to suit your moments of freedom.

Depending on the season when you go out in the wilderness, the use of hiking equipment such as snowshoes, cross-country skis, and boots with crampons will be required.

To continue to make you dream and to escape from some of the pressures of everyday life, your hikes to our summits and ridges will allow you to appreciate the majestic Ottawa River and a panoply of striking landscapes of the scenery offered by the Ottawa Plain.

The proximity of the river and the mountains brings us climatic variances, which requires adequate preparation before trail departures.

Each person will receive special attention and personalized service in order to maintain our quality standards that you have the right to expect for such outdoor outings.

Upon request, a certified guide service can be provided. This guide will be pleased to guide you along the trails while telling you stories punctuated with information about the past of the Pontiac territory. Thus, when you have completed your outdoor experience, you will be able to leave with a better knowledge of what the Pontiac territory has to offer in terms of geology, geography, fauna and flora.

THE COOP AVENTURE HÉLIANTHE THANKS YOU FOR YOUR VISIT!

Les sentiers de la Grotte des Fées

If Gaspésie is often depicted by its main road between waters and mountains that offer breathtaking landscapes, it is also the seat of a priceless wealth of wildlife in its interior. Renowned for its national parks, the Gaspé Peninsula is also home to lesser-known wilderness areas that abound in panoramas and history.

The municipality of Saint-Léandre in the MRC of La Matanie is no exception with the Grotte des fées trails, a perfect tourist stop for nature lovers. In their dealings with the MRC's forestry engineers, the managers of the Grotte des fées trails discovered that their initiatives also helped protect the surrounding habitats.
