A forest of wonders in all seasons!

An entire network of hiking trails awaits you in the Forêt Ouareau Regional Park, a territory of nearly 150 km² criss-crossed by trails along the majestic Ouareau River or criss-crossing the forest by loops in the heart of the Massif de la Forêt Ouareau.

What could be better than a hike in an old-growth forest, on one of the trails suggested on the park's web page? There are also ready-to-go hikes, a collaboration of Rando Québec, offering day or multi-day hikes with lodging in our huts.

The National Trail also crosses the Forêt Ouareau from east to west and provides access to the Matawinie regional park network. Trails accessible all year round depending on the sector.

Snow trails to explore on snowshoes!

Snowshoe hiking enthusiasts, the Massif sector of the Forêt Ouareau Regional Park is without a doubt the ideal area for snowshoe enthusiasts!

With its 35 km of groomed trails, a snowshoe hike in the winter whiteness of the Massif de la Forêt Ouareau is an unforgettable experience! The Pelletier hut allows hikers to take a break and warm up.
You can also extend the pleasure by reserving one of the other shelters in the Massif exclusively!

If you don't have the equipment you need, it is possible to rent snowshoes at a very affordable cost at the Le Massif reception centre. The snowshoeing season runs from December to March, depending on the snow cover.

Discover the Forêt Ouareau on cross-country skis!

Lovers of long cross-country ski trails will be delighted with your visit to the Massif sector of the Forêt Ouareau Regional Park!

Exceptional snow conditions make it a favourite site for classic cross-country skiing. Its 30 km of groomed cross-country ski trails allow you to discover magnificent trails in the forest asleep under its snow cover. To take a break and warm up, stop at the Pelletier hut.

Want to prolong the magic? We reserve an overnight stay in one of our exclusive huts located along the trails. The cross-country skiing season runs from December to March, depending on the snow cover.

Canoeing in the shade of the cliffs!

Imagine: a blue summer sky, a gentle breeze, the calm waters of a lake and a landscape of cliffs dotted with forest, simply breathtaking! That's what the Foothills sector of the Forêt Ouareau Regional Park, at 1st Beaver Lake, has to offer.

Canoe rentals are available for half a day, a full day or for two days with accommodation in a rustic campground.

Please note that rentals are paid at the Suspension Bridge reception station, located 5 km from the foothills.
Canoeing is available from May to October.

Depending on the season, you will enjoy the experience of a stay in the middle of nature. Our 8 shelters can accommodate from 2 to 8 people. Whether you are in the hollow of a valley, near a lake or the murmur of a river, you will find a diversity of natural environments to get away from it all!
