All over Quebec, mountain biking as cross country is a sport that’s still growing fast, and trail quality has been steadily improving from year to year. A stone’s throw from a city, treat yourself to a superb countryside setting, between mountain and forest.  

La Traversée de Charlevoix

A raid in the boreal forest: a real challenge!

105 kilometers of trails

La Traversée de Charlevoix is a 105 km raid in the Charlevoix hinterland, in the heart of the World Biosphere Reserve. This true challenge is intended for advanced hikers and skiers and expert cyclists. Off-piste skiing and hiking take place in 7 days and raid by mountain bike in 4 days. Accommodation is in rustic chalets, self-catering or with luggage transport. The trail is well marked but not mechanically traced in winter making exceptional the backcountry skiing experience.

La Traversée de Charlevoix is affiliated with the prestigious Trans Canada Trail and the Québec National Trail.  Also, a network of short day hiking trails is available for hiking or snowshoeing with or without accommodation.

Parc régional du Massif du sud

Discover the Parc du Massif du Sud and its beautiful region Chauidières-Appalaches. Winter landscapes are magical. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, Hok skiing, and slipping on are in the spotlight. In summer, hiking, mountain biking, hiking, and accommodation in nature (camping, refuge and ready-to-camp) are in the spotlight. The ready-to-camp accommodations provide an opportunity for renewal to reconnect with nature.

The Massif du Sud Regional Park is a must. This outdoor destination stands out for its exceptional environment and the diversity of its recreational offer. Think about it!

Characterized by its mountainous massif reaching 917m above sea level, a vast network of paths crosses the valleys of the park and leads you to surprising panoramas. The old-growth forests, flamboyant in the fall, contrast with the purity of the crystal-clear waters of rivers.

The Vallée Bras-du-Nord is a must-see outdoor destination, offering 80 kilometers of hiking and snowshoeing trails, more than 100 kilometers of single-track mountain bike trails and 17.5 kilometers of quiet river descents. Canyoning, via ferrata, fat biking, Hok skiing and guided off-piste skiing are also outdoor activities on offer.

With its magnificent falls and its breathtaking viewing points, Vallée Bras-du-Nord is one little piece of heaven for the outdoors enthusiasts!

 

Parc régional du Mont-Saint-Joseph

Outdoor mecca in Baie-des-Chaleurs

Mont-Saint-Joseph offers an exceptional area for outdoor enthusiasts: 35 km of hiking trails, 24 km of mountain bike trails (including 18 km of single track trails), a climbing wall sanctioned by the FQME, and 20 km of winter trails for fatbike, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and walking in the heart of Carleton-sur-Mer. After your excursion, head to the summit for a night of glamping in one of our geodomes built on a mountainside. Along the way, explore the chapel built in 1935 and our large belvedere, which offers a breathtaking view of Baie-des-Chaleurs. At the Visitor Centre, you will learn more about our history and the Mi'gmaq Nation, for whom Mont Saint-Joseph is an important gathering place.

At the International School for Earth Studies we believe a reciprocal relationship between people and the environment is paramount. Our private nature preserve is the ideal environment to facilitate and reinforce this connection. Parc Régional du Bois de Belle-Rivière

An enchanting site for the whole family 

The Bois de Belle-Rivière Regional Park, located in the heart of the Mirabel region, welcomes you in an enchanting setting summer and winter. Here you can enjoy hiking on our many forest trails, cycling, fishing in the pond, disc golf on our 18-basket course and take advantage of our swimming facilities including our Naya pool and water games or have a picnic.

Also, come skate on our exceptional ice trail in the maple grove or go tubing from the top of our lookout. New this winter, you can rent a "fatbike".  This outdoor activity has many adepts and the park offers the chance to come and try this sport while enjoying the great outdoors.

Finally, we welcome your canine friends on our trails, in our incredible dog park of more than 50,000 square feet as well as in some of our shelters. You will have a great time.

RAC city

Rivière-à-Claude is a small village in Haute-Gaspésie that is home to RAC's outdoor and back-country skiing cooperative.

During winter, the goal is to make others discover a different facet of off-piste skiing, to stop time and reconnect with nature. Working for our ski descents and benefit from each and every turn. Rac is the roots of skiing and snowboarding. The coop offers guided ski days with a snowmobile approach. It is accessible to all types of skiers, beginners as well as experts. We also offer accommodation in rustic cabins, yurts and prospectors tents.

In summer, it is mountain biking and contact with the soil that occupies our heads. We offer a network of mountain bike trails for advanced and expert cyclists, riverside camping sites, rustic accommodations, and a kiosk where you can buy our freshly harvested vegetables.

Nomades du Parc

Biking, beer and music (a real must in the region)

Nomades du Parc offers guided experiences and rentals of mountain bikes, gravel bikes, E-bikes, paddle boards and much more. Located at the entrance of the Gatineau Park in the center of Old Chelsea village in the Outaouais, we are the starting point for your days in the center of the green lung of the Outaouais.

Through events ( 5 to late of the park, Thursdays of the summer at the NDP, by far the best event in the region), introductory activities and accessibility, Nomades du Parc is at the heart of a community of residents and visitors. Park Nomads is a gathering place for the active community of Gatineau Park and serves as a starting point for anyone wanting to start a recreational activity in the park. With our patio, self-service bike repair station and cleaning station, what better way to end the day than with a good beer.

Parc du Domaine Vert

Parc du Domaine Vert has a wide range of outdoor activities for you

Located in Mirabel, the Parc du Domaine Vert offers a wide variety of solo or family activities. 

The entrance fee for the summer season includes access to the picnic area, bike paths, walking loops, the outdoor pool with integrated water games, the bathers cottage (toilets, showers, lockers that can be locked), the volleyball court, the ground-based Hébertice Trail (children 4-10 years), the various playgrounds, the mountain bike, the Mountain Bike Club, the pumptrack as well as the bicycle repair and washing station.

Located in the middle of a forest of tall pines, The AERIAL ROUTE of the Domaine Vert will allow you to discover the pleasure of climbing trees. A true immersion in the intimacy of nature! Courses of increasing difficulty are set up to allow participants to evolve, regardless of their skill level. The routes are carried out safely thanks to climbing equipment. Fun assured, it is the adventure activity of the Park.

The park also offers rental cottages, and rooms for special occasions as well as a day camp service in the summer for children. Some specific trails for hiking with a dog are open. Permission to bring your dog with you is subject to a number of conditions, including keeping your dog on a leash at all times and under constant supervision.

The entrance fee for the winter season includes access cross-country ski trails, hiking loops, snowshoeing trails, heated skating hut, snow hill, rental shop (winter only) and fatbike trails.

We are considered the most popular fatbiking site in the world, with 48 km (30 miles) of trails for all skills level. It's your first time, don't worry! We have a great rental department with helmets, front lights and more than 90 Fat Bikes available for rent, including electrical assistance and junior models (24'). With a hundred bikes and more than fifteen categories, you will be able to find the bike that is right for you. You can also choose another activity in the region either on our website or on site. A store, a workshop and a secure garage complete the services we offer.

Parc de la rivière Batiscan

Just 30 minutes from Trois-Rivières, the Batiscan River Park will charm you whether you are a thrill-seeker or want to relax in nature.  

This park divided into 3 sectors offers many activities such as Via Ferrata, tree climbing, zip lines, canoe, kayak and paddle board rentals (to be determined for the 2021 season), river access, fishing, hiking and even nature interpretation activities guided by biologists.

Kiddy in the Backcountry aims to inform, inspire and mobilize parents and those around young children so they can enjoy all the benefits of nature in a safe manner.

Currently located in 6 regions of Quebec, our program of activities allows children and their parents to experience new microadventures in an environment where everything is science and magic at the same time. Experimentation through our multi-activities, promotion of territorial and cultural diversity, awakening of ecological sensitivity, are all subjects that fascinate us. Specializing in activities for families with at least one child under the age of 6, Ti-Mousse likes to present nature as a context of wonder for all! It’s the art of turning little things into spectcular moments.

Parc régional Val-David - Val-Morin, secteur Dufresne

Val-David, where nature reigns supreme

Nature tamed just enough to offer fans of the outdoors an ecotourism haven. This protected forest is traversed by hundred of kilometers of hiking, cross country and snowshoe trails, of varying levels of difficulty. Look outs, belvederes and shelters made the experience all the more memorable. Over many years, climbers from all over come and practice their favourite sport enjoying the beautiful panorama of the park. From training walls to overhangs, Val-David's climbing gardens have something for everyone.

 

Parc régional des Grandes-Coulées

The parc régional des Grandes-Coulées is a must for outdoor activities in the L'Érable region! It includes two areas accessible for free. The Forêt ancienne counts 10 km of trails along the beautiful Rivière Noire plus its many activities for the family: fishing, hiking, biking, bikejoring, canicross, hebertism, GPS rally, bird watching and eclusive rental for a night in a rustic accommodation.

The Grande-Tourbière-de-Villeroy, becoming a protected ecological reserve, has 3 km of trails including 1,2 km of boardwalk. Access is free from sunrise to sunset. Dogs on a leash at all times are accepted (in the Forêt Ancienne area only)!
