The descent of the Gouffre River in recreational kayak

Several paths punctuated with easy white water that are offered to beginners, families, school, groups, as well as the sportiest.

We offer a rental service for all, accompanied by a shuttle. Walking along the river, you will have the opportunity to stop on one of the beaches, ideal time to bathe, enjoy a picnic, or just to enjoy the scenery. A choice of three different routes is offered to you: 12km, 20km and 25km.

Long of 72km, the Gouffre River originates from the Lac des Coeurs, located in the Parc des Grands Jardins area, before reaching the brackish waters of the St. Lawrence Estuary at the Baie-Saint-Paul wharf. All of the proposed routes on the river end at the mouth of the river at our wharf facilities at 210 Sainte-Anne Street. At the end of the courses, you will cross a more rural and urbanized section: the village of Baie-Saint-Paul. On the banks of the river, near Leclerc Bridge, a fresco depicts the history of Charlevoix, Baie-Saint-Paul and the hinterland, from yesterday to today.

This river is well known for the presence of Atlantic salmon, speckled trout (brook trout) and rainbow trout in its waters. The Gouffre River remains a fragile space, let us be aware that we are visiting a unique environment. Relax, enjoy the moment, breathe a bit, observe this nature, feel its strength, let yourself be guided by the current of the river.
