Mont-Tremblant, so much more than skiing!

Updated 14 mai 2021

We sometimes tend to forget it, but the Mont-Tremblant region in Laurentians is a 4-season destination with a huge potential for year-round fun! And yes, it offers a wide range of attractions other than skiing, making summer a great time to come and try new experiences with your family, your partner or your friends!

Here is a selection of wildly entertaining activities to enjoy in beautiful wilderness environments, and what's more, very easily accessible. At a time when Quebecers are looking for moments of outdoor adventure and disconnection, there is no doubt that anyone will find happiness in our beautiful region.

What to do for outdoor fun at Tremblant

Rafting on the Rouge River

Did you know that the Rouge River is considered one of the top 10 rafting rivers in North America? This is a great reason to experience this thrill if you don't mind getting a little wet. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler, several options (family, half-day, day) are available at the Activity Centre and you will have a memorable and refreshing time!

The same river will satisfy those who prefer calm waters to tumultuous rapids! In fact, it offers several areas where you can practice kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddling at your leisure. Rent your own boat and explore the banks, ponds and beautiful sandy beaches along the water. In the summer, bring a picnic and a bathing suit to extend the fun!

Climbing

Climbing has become increasingly popular in recent years in Quebec and around the world, and that's good. The practice of this sport allows the development of several physical and mental skills that are very useful and transferable to other activities: muscle tone, endurance, coordination, concentration, etc. A short walk from the village, the Mont-Tremblant forest is home to an imposing 70-foot cliff, perfect for the initiation activity offered on site. No experience is required, just bring your running shoes or hiking boots, a bottle of water and you're ready to tackle the rock under the watchful eye of our friendly guides.

Ziplines and Via Ferrata at Mont-Catherine

Another magnificent attraction of the region, Mont-Catherine offers great options to satisfy the thirst for adventure of thrill seekers. Our team recommends the very popular zip line and via ferrata combo. Hours of fun along the rock faces, climbing obstacles, ladders, metal handles, footbridges, to finally reach the top of the mountain and culminate at 196 m high, the equivalent of a 20-story building!

TreeHouses

One of the best kept secrets of the region, Les Refuges Perchés offers a pretty incredible experience for those who want to experience the joys of glamping in a wild backcountry environment. 20 adorable tree houses are spread out on the shores of the sumptuous Lac Cordon in the heart of the Parc Éco Laurentides. On the program: managing your resources (food, water, fire) which is an integral part of the adventure, but also hiking, swimming, canoeing, picnicking, wildlife observation, cocooning and much more!

What about winter?

After this summer overview, we would be remiss if we didn't mention the magical experiences that await you when the snow and ice set in!

The most popular activity is undoubtedly dog sledding, a joy for families who love the great outdoors and pitous. Snowmobiling is also a classic and allows you to discover some of the best trails in Quebec. Great options to explore the region while learning, the guided hike with the fireman or the sleigh ride. And finally, a great idea for teens who are not afraid of the cold: ice climbing!

As the region's main activity center, The Activity Centre is the best organization to provide information and advice on attractions, activities and experiences in the Mont-Tremblant region.

The Activity Centre ensures that the health measures related to COVID-19 are scrupulously applied by activity operators, so that users can enjoy their experiences in complete safety and confidence.
