A Winter Full of Outdoor Activities!

Updated 21 novembre 2018

Quebec’s natural landscapes change with the seasons, providing the setting for contemplation, discovery and adventure. Expand your horizons by choosing activities offered by businesses certified with the “Aventure Écotourisme Québec Seal”, and make the most of the magic of winter in this vast land.

Kayaking in winter, why not?

Are you looking for outside-the-box sports? Don’t miss the chance to go on a winter kayak expedition! Close to the end of the season, when there is still ice floating on the water, Katabatik invites you to paddle on the cold waters of the St. Lawrence Estuary and explore rarely seen landscapes. Participants bundle up and set out with expert guides on a four-hour expedition that is sure to amaze. Imagine gazing out at ice-covered scenery, seals and ice floes as you paddle along the clear blue waters – probably untravelled since before winter. A one-of-a-kind adventure for any outdoor enthusiast!

Exhilarating off-trailing

For skiers who have adventure in their blood, Nordic backcountry skiing in the Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier is a must with Quatre Natures. Skis, boots, climbing skins and telescopic poles are included in all packages, as well as lunch in a mountain shelter. If you want to ski down the blank trails of the Matane Chics-Chocs, Vertigo-Aventures can prepare the ultimate backcountry expedition for you. For greater safety, take the avalanche safety course, offered with all ski packages.

Mush, mush!

Dogsledding is a great way to access beautiful landscapes. With Entre chien et loup you can discover the Saguenay Fjord on an expedition on a sled pulled by a pack of malamutes crossed with wolves. If you choose Chalets et Villégiature de la rivière Daaquam, you’ll get to explore the Appalachian Regional Park’s 80 km (50 mi.) of trails as the Siberian Huskies take you through hills and valleys. Are you a snowmobiler? Then combine snowmobiling and dogsledding at Laurel Aventure Nature, which offers a wonderful package including a dogsledding expedition, a snowmobile ride and a night in a teepee. The best of both worlds for die-hard fans of winter!
